I've been looking to join in for a while now, so this looks like fun! Early observations from the concept art: Temple is a dodecagon with a front point removed to create an entrance; rotation angle snaps should be at 30 degrees. Base and pillar arrangement is faceted (ie flat sides) but the base for the upper roof section…
This is an awesome start but it reminds me a lot of Snefer's environment :P Even the proportions of the windows, walls and stuff is too similar... The original pokecenter is a lot "cleaner", in regards to lines and plating. Not everything has to be made out of big metal plates. In fact all those plates make the environment…
Similar to what others have said. Like Malus, I liked to escape reality though not out of boredom but because reality usually sucked for me. When I was a kid I spent a lot of time building castles and space bases out of Lego and also drawing huge maze like caverns with stickmen armies battling it out, which interestingly…
Solution: Offer a flexible pricing scheme for game sales, and or multiple release types on a direct download service ala steam. (IE look at what Trent Reznor is doing with his music and copy) Trial game = free Full game basic - digital copy - $20-40 Full Game With extras - Digital copy - $30-50 Full Game Extras - Hard Copy…
Hey man, had some feedback. I like the depth you have in some of the parts, and get some good AO. I would try and divide things less evenly if possible. The reason that more dynamic is good is that it creates visual hierarchy and it's more pleasing to the eye. My personal opinion I would try and find a better hallway…
Hello and thanks for your attention! Im currently planning an amateur game project which shall be a modification for Half Life 2. For those who don't know: a modification (mod, total conversion) is a game, created with costumer tools and the engine of an existing game which is totally legal and desired by the game…
Hey everyone! had fun with the last challenge, I'm gonna hop in with some critique and my own progress as well. @Quibees I like what you have for the mask so far. I would make the little tiny pieces at the top in the middle have some volume, and adjust the way that they are intersecting the main body of the mask, and I…
either or.....its the content of the portfolio that matters above all else. A slick site filled with mediocre art work isnt going to get anyone very far. same with artsation. Just get some amazing work infront of the right people. one advantage you have with artstation is it's pretty much a social media platform, you can…
Sorry if this comes a bit harsh here. But whats the pupose of all those models? I mostly see rushed highpoly models. With too few detail for justifiying a highpoly. If you do this just for getting some practice then why don't you stick to one of those objects and do a proper highpoly with sufficient details etc. Beside the…
As Obscura says, look up seamless textures. Seamless means that when you put two of them immediately next to each other they don't have a sharp "seam", i.e. they blend together. You can make a quick test seamless texture in Photoshop by using Filter > Render > Clouds. Apply this image to a plane in max/maya/unreal/wherever…
