hey moof. thanks man. feeling's mutual. far as taking the drawings to a more finished state. need to fix my head around a way to marry that intention with still keeping them ultra dirty. probably easier to model one out with the super decimated approach. all chunky and hard edged. . .
Elyaradine: The Monkey. Love the monkey. And thanks Muzz. I'm definitely doing what I can to incorporate the advice. Today's sketch. I'm attempting to combine the fast mark making of my landscape paintings with the hard line work of a comic book. Still working on it. Any help would be much appreciated.
dii: omfg, so inspiring and AWESOME Tomm: Yeah, totally happens to everyone. Wacom does make replacement nibbs, so I honestly recommend buying a pack while your tablet's model is still in production. I use an older Intuos and have a real hard time finding replacement parts.
hard (not like the guy above hehe) to stay away from this discussion... As artists, I think it is our duty to study anatomy and play with shapes, all of them, keep in mind art and video games are a distraction, if an oversexualized guy or girl is what you enjoy (as many many guys do), then it is successful in bringing…
Cool work Brandon, happy I could inspire you :D As for critique I think you could add a little bounce light to the back of the head, just so it reads as more of a 3-d object. I'd also work on making your forms a bit stronger (hard and soft edges) Lookin sweet!
Thanks, man! I really appreciate it :) Some studies and doodles. Also, here's the brushes that I used for this and a few previous sketches, just 2 brushes. Use the with 100% opacity, and 10-25% flow. The first brush has a hard edge and a soft edge, use if for lines and for shading.…
Makkon I love your lines and style of drawing! One thing just really bugs me about the ent picture though that I just have to mention....It's hard to look at. I think it would help if instead of a white background you used a dark grey or maybe just quickly paint the dudes grey. @Moof, love the skull!
Lol, wake, believe it or not but i was thinking exactly the same thing while drawing it -_-. I've been on a drawing binge and something just clicked in my mind. Nice study man, You should use larger brushes for the flat blocks of colour, Don't be scared of soft brushes either, just as long as you straight away cut the hard…
Thanks for the advice Eric! I didn't realize I was sticking to one body type so hard. Some more thumbs, some were before your feedback and some were after, thinking I'll go with one of the variants of the long legged fellas on the last page: Probably should start working on painting it rather than more thumbs, haha.:)
@Donneisha_Spriggs - Welcome! For hair, I might suggest blocking in a the head in rough form so that your hair has context. IMO, hair is all about the major forms... so it's hard to understand hair as forms without the form that it lays on. Similar to clothes... you can study pinches and folds, but you need to…
