Ah! This reminded me to complete of a very similar 'portrait' I was working on that I hadn't finished! It was based off this kids drawing for an 'ice-age' creature.
Sounds like a really cool idea to use sprites. I've been having trouble thinking of unique forms and structures for creatures, this'll help a bunch. Thanks, Aimbiz.

Well, I am back from the dead. I broke my stylus with a straw of spaghetti (tried using it as a nib, you can guess what happened). However here are some creatures from random shapes.
So I stumbled across this on my hard drive today, It's an old design I started ages ago but sadly never did more with. It was a creature inspired by ballet. I wanted to capture the essence of ballet in this design.
Nice work guys! @Arcadehero try to get rid of those black lines, if you just color the lineart with a orange tone that should do it! also not sure if you used a reference, if not its always good to use a ref to selfcheck :) Alien creature:
