Starting to build the Golden Gate Bridge... in "High Poly", I'll only be using enough polygons to get the necessary detail so that it works at the right viewing scale. This is the first modular asset, it's 2026 tris.
#1 modular design tutorial #2 more or less the same as above #3 and this one to a lesser extent, although it helped a bit with baking process, which, despite the tut, i'm doing within max. enjoy. :)
This doesn't even compare to anyone here but I read on the modular modeling section on the PCWiki and made this very quickly. It's still missing many textures but I'm getting used to it now, learned quite a good amount!
I'm working on a modular scifi scene based on this Mass Effect 2 concept art: Pretty much ready for texturing. All low poly models with normals applied and ao maps in the diffuse channel. Rendered in CE3:
Looking good Ikuru. I'm thinking of doing a modular building myself. Just watched the 3dmotive video. A tiny crit: The inside of your window frames look a little strange to me. Is it a stretched texture? Overall, nice work.
depends on what your looking for Downtown Long Beach and LA has some nice stuff as does Manhattan of course check out the Fenwick shopping center in England as well all good stuff for modular building design ideas.
Been working on a modular building set, as I realised my 'tools' project was going to be really similar to Scott Homer's environment that he's working on. I'll carry it on when uni's over, I reckon! This piece uses 2 1024 textures, one for the top half of the building (brick section) and one for the bottom half (shop…
An update to my Sci-fi scene. Gonna get a basic material setup done for the pipes so I can change the colour of them individually. Tinkering with post processing atm, and I have a lot more modular assets to make.
Super: Nice shoulder :D Well I have been thinking of making myself a Samus (low poly?) so I went ahead and drew some plans up for it, also to think of her suit modularity a la Super Metroid
 Indeed. All the talk about the new one made me want to do something with the old style. Will see if it gets put into an engine or just keep it as a pretty-project thing... Would be a good exercise in modular cyber punk stuff.
