truedejia: Loving those, especially the last one, great expression :D Murph: Pure awesome, grats on getting your first card printed :D Makkon: I don't think you need to worry too much about it looking like a furry, it's already miles ahead artistically (based on what I've seen from the other side anyway..urgh..) and as you…
One day I will finish this fer realz. Finished the top half..now working on the bottom. I still have no idea what to do with the palm of his stupid little robot hand..might contact the concept artist for that one.
Thats awesome Smo! So long long ago I thought I'd make a transforming Ork trukk.... though the robot stage is still well off I thought I'd show the Trukk forms thus far. Any opinions please so far folks? I'd like to sculpt in the fine details and make the surfaces appear a bit rougher after the sub d version is finished. I…
@NeoDement- Thanks, I followed your advice and enlarged the camera a bit, but I can't go as big as I would like, due to space issues when the legs are retracted. As for the barrel itself... I just think a robot hidden inside a wooden barrel is funnier than a generic metal one. :)
@ XenoKratios : You can get rid of many of these edge loops. The normal map is here to "add" these chamfers etc. Continuing on my robot : Overall view with some design changes : (as I said i'm mainly inspired by these warjacks : http://privateerpress.com/warmachine/gallery/cygnar/warjacks) And a close up on the pelvis :
Well I was going to stop after doing this robots leg but then I deiced fuck it and just finished the rest of it ha :) Had to change a few things most notably the grill as the concept has a flat grill but on curved skull which couldn't actually happen when turned to 3d. Original Creature Box Concept
Great stuff going on as always! murph: Love it! You handle colour and tone so well, sir! haikai: you nailed the sculpt for sure! Here's a robot mechanic I designed for The Race For the Globe project I'm working on: I did most of the mechanical modeling in Maya and then painted over the renders in PS. Cheers!
That's what I'm currently working on... A remake of an almist ~10 year old model I did when I started modelling in 2001. The Design is drowning in techical errors but he's still my favorite Movie Robot. Just in case someone doesn't know him: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kIAW2ZAfrWo[/ame]
Some really cool stuff on here lately. @Nick Carver - Those environments are beautiful, great color and brush work! @SeanEG - your robots comin along nicely dude, cant wait to see it when its done. nice glasses max, get back to work. As for me just finished up this illustration. Cheers!
depends if all 3 tires take the same amount of power. If you have one spining faster than the other and if the whole robot isn't directly attatched to the wheels (i.e. ts got a 360 degree swivel mechanism halfway up) it would work like a tank. Wouldn't be very fast, but could go in straight lines.
