That never really was the case with Oblivion, though. You had a few cool weapons, but nothing of note. Horse armor was indeed pretty overpowered though. :D I enjoyed many of Oblivions DLC's, although some were just plain bad. :P Knights of the Nine was the best ever.
In that game informer article it mentioned something about being able to smelt weapons in the town if you don't feel like adventuring. I hope that's some sort of a crafting system though and not some crappy little mini-game. They made it sound more like it's a mini-game though.
Thank the gods you can quickly cure vamprism with a trip to the local shrine! Finished up a quick "kill the vamp camp" mission, went back to town, collected my reward, just as I walked outside got the "you feel a slight hunger as the sun sets" message... urgh. Also, I kinda wish you could pay off the smiths to upgrade /…
I guess it depends on how you play the game. My character is a jack of all trades, so I change my armor/weapon/magic/shouts a lot during battle. This means a looong favourite list, but I prefer it to Arkham City's implementation which is prettier but rather clumsy for me.
Startingdungeon is notoriously hard, and you even finding the way out can be rough the first few times. If you find any silver weapons they should do damage on imps. Also, do it in steps, go forward and kill a monster, go back a bit and sleep to regain health, save and repeat.
Favorite what you want to hotkey. Open the Favorite menu (Q), highlight what you want to hotkey, and press a hotkey ( 1 - 8 ). You can also double tap a hotkey to equip the same spell in both hands, theoretically this should work for weapons but its feeling pretty buggy at the moment.
That happened to me, I got killed by a bear. I expect its quite difficult to detect the player is in combat. They dont have modes like in other games. That would sort out alot of problems if they did. Unsheath your weapon(the controls change), your in combat mode, do not disturb player with nonsense.
Loving this game as well, and I'm a general cynic. They've taken note of the problems with Oblivion and improved it. The UI is a bit confusing and a mess. But its plus points way outweight its negatives. Loving all the little interactions. Like a guard having a go at me for leaving a load of weapons on the ground. Or…
Gotta say, it was rather irritating that it took me this long to a) find a soul trap spell book (looted it, not bought, noone had one for sell) or b) find any soul trap weapons to disenchant... granted, now I've got a bucketload of filled soul gems, makes enchanting easy to do and level up.
Nice shot - how do you get the camera to show your char like that? I know I can move the cam around when holding down F, but it only works when I draw my weapons. Plus it is really hard to control as I can make left/right movements but no up/down.
