A new LWO exporter is available that also exports vertex normals (an add-on for custom vertex normals is compatible with this exporter). Thanks this works for the alignment part of the faces, but I have still to figure out how to align the vertex while keeping the correct direction. This doesn't work, because as you add selections to what you set previously, it will update the pivot orientation (don't know why, since it's set to 3D cursor, that in theory…
So I've found that there's only ever one root and marking a vertex as a root removes the previous root. However, I now have a new problem, in that marking/clearing a vertex as loose doesn't seem to do anything at all. Anyone have any idea why that might be?
I dare say there is no toggle to always switch it on. How should it support edge or vertex selection? Which faces should be selected, there are usually more than one connected to an edge or vertex. In edge mode you have the option to select similar edges by face angle, but that is for the whole mesh.
