I put this together today, hope some of you find it useful! https://twitter.com/Leukbaars/status/919781594813964288 select 2 faces and it will extend the UV to the active face. Lots of possibilities to expand on this that I want to explore now :)
flickering is often two faces superimposed. Try a W / remove doubles or look if you didn't have n-gons under your faces. It append often to me when I do F instead of J to join edges.
The "clumsy but functional" was for UV unwrapping, you don't need multi object editing for that, a new option could be added to unwrap several objects into the same UV map so this could happen before multi object editing itself. There's "Limit selection to visible" next to the selection mode buttons. Also in face select…
Knife project merely will cut a shape on the face of the mesh. I am trying to have this cut go through the entire model and create faces. Imagine this mesh that actually has little separate cubes with all 6 side faces. I would like to do something like this on a much less simple shape without perfect straight lines. The…
What exactly do you mean by constrain to face? Usually you do not draw materials. You would just assign the same material to the faces where you want to have it. Go into edit mode for the mesh and open the Material context in the Properties editor. Then select the faces where you want to have the material applied, select…
@Justo I tried to explain this in my previous post. You can get the correct rotation by snapping the cursor onto the face but have to place it at the median point afterwards, selecting both faces and use "cursor to selected", because the latter doesn't affect cursor rotation. For this you would have to add a face first as…
@justo so after some further investigation it seems that in Xray mode(show whole scene transparent) that you have to cross the face dot to include the face in the selection. Non-xray behaves like Max(depending on window/crossing mode) in that you just need to touch any part, although turning face dot display off/on in…
