@Defunct In the Preferences, "Input" section, there's a checkbox for "Continuous Grab", and that does the job... ...but it should be enabled by default. At least when I installed Blender 2.8 for the first time, it was on already. Maybe you have accidentally switched it off or something.
They should appear when saving files with Save Preview Thumbnails enabled. This setting doesn't appear in the save dialog, it's currently located in Preferences > Save & Load. Here are the most up-to-date pages form the manual about it (1 2).
Unfortunately not. Not while moving (grabbing) but you can work around that by sliding if you press G twice (then you have to enable keep UVs in the pop up settings at least once before it will work (unless that's the default setting these days))
I havent used Blender in quite some while but is there a way to enable semi-transparency just in edit mode? When I apply a halftransparent material I can no longer check shading in object mode without reapplying a diffuse material and that is slow ofc.
@Grimwolf Copy the whole thing to a text file and rename it to 3dview_edit_preselect.py then install it like you would any other addon. Works for me, you have to enable "preselect faces" in the shading rollout on the right panel. And if you don't depth test it will highlight backfaces.
I toggle XRay on and off automatically upon dragging selection with addon. Also it temporary disable solidify (as Solidify clutter xray view when object mode edge wires enabled) and mirror modifier. So it works like this: I can share addon if someone need it.

one thing that is not that obvious but pretty important : alt + strg + space set your own coordinate system. g - x will move on global coordinate g - x - x will move on the one you created works the same with rotate and scale also i can only advise everyone new to blender to enable dynamic spacebar menu in the addons menu…
@pior I'm only looking at the trial here, but line 396 of /quad_remesher/qr_operators.py hides the input object. You can comment that line and add other post-processing steps at the end of that function. When you save the script you then need to disable & enable the add-on on Preferences for it to be reloaded with the…
@LuisCherubini Thanks for the answer. I was wondering why I wasnt seeing the option, but it turns out it's an addon I need to enable from Preferences. It works like a charm! It's too bad though we cannot set it as the default image-import method when dragging images to the viewport from the explorer...
