Trying to oldschool model a female head. So any tips on making this more feminine? and are the loops ok? some areas I wasn't really sure about, I have quite a few poles in there now. but then again, I don't know what i'll be using this for, maybe sculpt or maybe just leave it as is. ps: i stole almighty_gir's foto…
You should make the handle like a kinda shaped piece of wood, please don't leave it like a straight cylinder, that doesn't show detail and if its a symmetrical piece, it will not look as interesting. But the Iron piece looks pretty good for how simple that stuff is. That handle will really make it pop if you can pull it…
more to dump :P Little bit more progress on my new Skywarp...getting the high poly moving and starting to understand SubD a bit more, just gotta work on clearing out the edge loops that don't matter, everything in this render comes out to 2 million tris :(...got a lot of cleaning up to do, bleh To show that you can see his…
Holi: I don't imagine this will be much comfort to you, but if they were interviewing someone senior for the same position and still interviewed you, they probably believed the senior artist had other opportunities and there was a reasonable chance that artist would turn down an offer, so they interviewed you also. Showing…
Thanks guys! I make no claims as to how fun the game is, it's pretty much your standard by the numbers FB Farming Game with a few twists. We were targeted the 20-40 year old female soooo... ;) I appreciate the kind words! Todd P. and I definitely wanted to try to push the boundaries of Flash games a bit with this with the…
*Squint* All right, I'm no "professional" or anything, not yet anyway, but I can offer some tips. Ok, first thing I would do if I was handed that model and was told to work with it would be to first harden your normals to see what's exactly going on in there (the wireframe is hard to read, and the smoothing makes it…
Polymer clays are great, especially for people starting to sculpt because they are virtually mess free. Plus you have the option to bake and keep whatever you've made versus making a mold for it and casting it in a resin or what not. I would say the only downside to them is that the clay does go bad, and you sometimes have…
@RawTalent: Your textures are taken directly from photoreferences (bad), and are misaligned to the geometry in many areas (worse) Major problem area's are: - The juncture between the neck and head - The cuff of the pants - The shoes And to a lesser extent the ears, and the mouth. Using photoreference isn't bad, but when…
MaD: Cylinders hold up pretty well under lower polygon counts, and you can always save shit-tons of tris on them. I usually make mine 5-sided, which is the lowest really cylindrical equivalent, and optimise to 3-sided if need be. edit: also, collapsing the inside of a bend usually doesn't make much of a different to the…
