Lonewolf: get in line :) I know it's always a good idea for an exercise, plus every game can use a skull model, so I figured it was time. Stopped just after starting the teeth. Tomorrow get all the surface detailing and small detail stuff.
Awesome Szark. Blurry texture in the foreground is a bit distracting though, maybe add some props or dof? Sogun, head looks pretty cool, but it's a bit blobby. Maybe add some sharp areas where bone sits close to skin and define skull planes more.
Personally I'd like some shading on the bandana, feels really flat compared to the skull, and it strikes me as odd cause there's shading everywhere else. I still like the design though, congratulations. Also, those are some nice close-ups, are those mockups or did you actually get the design test printed?
@ Neox-- thanks man. about 75% of the model were primitives made in Max. I tend to try to stay away from any legit hard surface modeling in Zbrush because I have more control over it this way. The Skulls and horns were all Zbrush though, made from Z Spheres.
neox. It's based on this concept. I don't want to stray to much from it but I kiiind of agree. Honor the creator etc. Skulls + gun were the theme of the competition it came from. I could remove it though I guess. I don't know. Hmm.…
yeah was referring to the skull not the generic base meshy thing anyway just keep at it Firebert its half way there now. I would drop the ears down a bit though. For the hair and tash, you should give the slash 2 brush a go. works ok re the eyes I normally just use plain spheres as a guide. The one above has the eyes as…
I assume the handle where the bow is held is in between the jaws. If that's the fact (and it should be because it's fucking impossible to not hold a bow in the middle when you draw it back) then you could think about adding a place to nock the arrows in. Most people don't balance an arrow on their fingers. Detail ideas:…
Notorious the skull detailing is way blobby... but I assume you are still working on that. Awesome work though. :) Interesting fact about the actual creature from the movie...the creature effects guys sculpted a penis on this guy, and made sure several times to bring it up with Fox to make sure it was ok to have that. They…
Rollin, that character is awesome. As for the fur perhaps you should use alphas as Johny suggested, that way it can give some nice silhouette that can really sell it. Raven, that composite is pretty creepy, the lighting on the cg stuff needs some work though. And when the box is opened and the skull comes in, it comes in…
vig: yeah i agree good point, but the way it overlaps also differs from person suprore: agree on that too, eyes are too big, however i feel that the mouth is somewhat more problematic and huge, will be on vacation for a few days then i'm diving back into his skull :D polyhertz: wow, how its the performance of sculptris…
