Have been working on this for the GameArtisans sackboy competition. There were some amazing entries in this comp. I am still finishing this guy up, he doesn't even have normals yet, I need to work on the contrast levels of the wool on the actual sackman, etc.
Thanks for the paintover ZacD, it helps :) edit: worked it a bit more... It's still the same 500 poly's with meshsmooth on x2 since the last render. ps: should I make the body before sculpting this head? It will have clothes on: a string vest, trousers and boots etc.
Adam: Looking really cool dude. I think you should start adding some general things that give a sense of scale. Maybe light fixtures, windows, trash bins etc. You have developed some nice modeling skills man.
when we find the time, sure, right now its more important to have it play good in the given circumstances, the look is important too but not as important as playability and thats a big task with pretty untweaked jumps, no grabbing/climbing/mantling etc thanks guys :)
Some character I`ve been working on for some time. It was supposed to be my hipoly mesh to bake nomrlas etc. Unforunately I lost all of the data for the body so I`ll have to start over... but hey! at least I`ll learn somthing ;)
yea jason your current site is pretty good, Im not a huge fan of the teal, its really bright and eye searing. im always partial to dark greys/gradients etc just makes the art pop so much more. nice content on there dude.
Wow Jordan. I saw this as your avatar just a few minutes ago and wondered when you did that, no here you posted the full thing. Very impressive :) Can you share a little about it? Like wires, soft used, lighting setup, etc.
Heres a gun (HK-416) I'm working on. This is the high poly, and I'm getting close to finishing it. I just have to do the other side of the gun and finish the barrel area, then its on to the attachments (light, handle, sight, etc). Then I will continue to the low poly and texturing. :)
neox, good to see more airborne. i really like your guys stuff. im sure you're all big fans of miyazaki, really reminds me of Laputa etc. dunno if you ever saw the show Skyland (the plot and dialogue was all pretty bad, but the art direction was a cool execution of this general style.) i just looked through a few pictures…
it does look like a miniature - i think it's the outline shape. kind of reminds me of the little big planet levels with uncle jalapeno. more environments. needs more generic props about the place i think. maybe some posters, wall sockets, litter, etc.
