blouskall: Just add more geo to round out your shape. When you have two loops close together like that it will always pinch unless there's a consistent or gradual falloff in the number of loops to their sides.
Object 2 is regular way to go. So just wireframe maybe enough. image sharing My opinion:* This requires hardedge evenly transfer to smooth mesh. So At first, make base mesh, then create loops. * But typical loops will provide evenly sharp edges which we don't want. So in my way, have to manually cut new loop (from the…
Support loops come last. What I will do is model out a shape, then add support loops, then add a turbosmooth and adjust any loops as needed. If I am making an unfamiliar surface (weirdly intersecting curves, etc) I will drop a turbosmooth on top and work underneath it with the 'show end result' button checked, this is…
Cant you make a cylinder with a bunch of loops, turn on soft selection, select the loop on one end and scale it down? edit: I dont know what soft selection is in maya, somebody translate for me :B
Quick question: Does every shape and form need to be completed and modeled before I turn on turbosmooth and add support loops, or do people add turbosmooth ASAP and work with it along side while adding support loops as they go? I find the latter way messes up my topology to a point where its hard to model certain features…
For now the main cockpit frame is connected to the plane's body, that's why I have those extra edge loops. I was thinking about maybe extracting the frame faces so I don't need those extra loops.
Hey Brygelsmack, thanks a lot for your help. Yeah I already tried out what you painted over, the problem is, that the support loop on the top creates an unwantedly hard edge as well as the two continuous loops on the side.. :/
Cool! Thx! I even disabled those graphite toolset, thought it was just a 'visual duplicate' of common Max-tools. lol 'Straighten loop' does the job for me! Is there a way to choose the 'slope' of that edge-loop? So I can adjust it without changing the Y-position of my vertices? Or do I just have to put my vertices in the…
4 quick steps: A. Make 6 sided cylinder B. Bevel/inset Top/Bottom faces C. Select and Bevel 6 edge loops(at once, of course) D Loop slice, with 2 symmetric loops And another one for fun, turn a cylinder into a hexagon. A. Create 18 sided cylinder with 3 segments, scale to desired proportions B. Select every other third…
