Nice model/texturework/animation Viking. How many bones did you use for the animation? And Drayton, are you using Unity's physics etc for your iPhone game, or your own?
Always wondered. Does overlapping geometry like that (tree roots, branches, etc) cause any problems in terms of computation once it's in-engine? Or is that legitimately a good method of reducing polycount, if used correctly?
well there are a lot of polys there that don't really define shape. specially around the eye, nose, etc. you can chop them off without any decrease in quality, and throw them somewhere else.
woodesh - could you render us an approximation of an Ipad screenshot? Just how the camera is positioned in relation to the characters etc. A bit of a level would be useful but not required. That'll help us judge better.
@mrawolf That looks awesome man Can anyone recommend a low poly tute, on how to do that sort of style? Not interested in the usual hand painted Wow style. More like quake 2 etc.
A plant! Does anyone know how to make some kind of cel-shaded shader in Unity that is also effected by lighting? I have a scene with various things that look like this, but I have them with flat lamberts etc. so they don't look nearly as vibrant as the image above. I didn't notice any cel-shaded stuff with light properties…
A DS will run 1024 triangles per screen at 60 fps. 2048 per screen at 30 fps etc nintendo, like other companies, stipulate that a game should run at 60 fps. Except in certain situations.
Very nice little story. Those having trouble rotating the view; this doesn't work with wacom input for some reason. Out of interest, did you use any plugins from the marketplace to do the camera etc?
That's a real cool AXE Gmanx. I can't start a thread here yet but I have a thread at blenderartists Where I'm trying to learn how to make low polycount meshes. If you could tell me how you got your AXE to look like that with render ,material ,lighting etc etc settings .I can't tell but I don't think your AXE has a normal…
My only crit is the text that says LP car etc. I can barely read it ;) Seriously though that's a sweet car, good job. Can't really find anything to crit on it. Also... one week? Damn :poly142:
