liking sword so far johnny, low poly (wow spec) shopkeeper or something wip. Any suggestions on hand topo, or topo in general, fingers in wow only have 3 sides, i went with 4, i think it looks okay....
Whipped this model up around ~4 hours. His back is horribly unwrapped, it was too late to fix it...so sad. @Lionx_Dagger: Show some wireframe, 90/128? tris is a bit too much. You could do that with at least 36 tris.
LOL! there is about ~8 colors, so theoretically you can make a 4 x 2, but you would need to have a great deal of UV data to get the face. Poly data would probably hit 150 but funny to do 4X2 lol!
I think you'd be better off using a lowres texture with bands and rectangles and turning off filtering. Then you just need to use geo to make shapes, and then you would be done with only 4 triangles for a rectangular shape and however-many for round shapes.
S_ource, Neodement, both are correct but you can only choose 1. 8 tris mirrored uvs, or 6 tris stretched. The benefits of my stretching is almost inconsequential here. Raz, the first 4 wood planks thank you Following with topic of stretching:
I couldn't post these until now, so here they go. All of them use 128 or 256 diffuse textures, but here they have the 512x512 one, for iphone 4 and ipad. The tank and armored vehicle are 446 and 420 triangles and 256x256 textures in the screen grabs bellow.
Funny that you mention it, but this is for a TD game in unity lol. Though, I am having to code it for a final project :poly127: Luckily we are keeping it very simple, and only having 4 turrets and 3 monsters. I will post those when I get them done
@Micah: Glad u like it. Mybe I'll try to make some more some time :) @Tigerfeet: Yes I do mean 4-sided polygons. I'll edit the entry tomorrow giving you guys some detailed specs...but now i'm tiiiiired :poly125:
Looks cool as heck, NoisyMonk! Did you think of making the legs 3 sided rather than 4? You might be able to make the outside of each leg flat (without the middle seam, I mean), especially if it's going to be small and fast in-game. [edited for poor spelling]
Hey guys, i'm totally new to this forum, actually this is my first forum. I've been trying to learn 3d modeling, starting in blender for about 4 months now. I wanna show you the first model i've made that i'm actually proud of. 954 triangles.
