Been working on a new map for my mod set in an mountain pass in the Pyrenees. Had to make a number of new static meshes and textures (the cafe, hotel, road sections and signs, hotel, cable car etc).
had some time to work on my project... still some things to do, glasses need to be smaller, the lower lip and ching have to move a bit forward, the areea between the eyebrows has to be smoother etc.
yeah , its just in zbrush I use the std brush with the alpha that looks like a nipple, ie large fall and sharp point in the middle. great for sharp details/creases/skin detail etc see diagram
Justin, as long as your texture is a power of two on each axis (64x256, 2048x512, etc) it'll be fine. 256x512 is half the video memory of a 512x512. We use rectangular textures all the time at work, mainly for environment stuff.
and heres another bust that will make its way to normal mapping world . I hope you guys can recognize him image with more renders, viewport, etc in my folio ( to avoid posting huge ass images )
That is very cool kdr. TA:spring is cool. Something that reminds me of it sorta is Urban assault. Units were built out of energy etc.. and you can take control of a unit yourself. Which i think you can do in taspring.
Looking promising Jarrod, though you may want to turn down the relief on everything, it's in danger of looking like you've etched in the details on the walls, floors, etc in to a block of clay. Let the NMs compliment your geometry and not completely overthrow everything else
[ QUOTE ] JonEdwards: Remember to use vertex colors to do your lighting. You can pull off a tonne of sweet effects with vertex colors. (radiosity, cast shadows, multiple light sources, etc.) [/ QUOTE ] so, how do you make that?
gmanx that rifle is great! I don't think the grip is too small, fairly similar in size to ones I've seen before at "games day" etc. Are you going to dirty up the blade a bit then? would be nice to see a few nicks and cuts out of that.
Ah Noisey a fellow scouser, thought I was the only one here. Anyway, the sign could use more dirt etc in the open white'ish areas for a start. Add a few scratches and alike, might help give you a better look for the dirt at the top.
