I am not upset Eric, I am asking because I have some kind of scheduler, and I want to know if shall I spend some money now or wait a bit for Megascans too.
I have never been so disappointed in polycount. Seriously, I'm guessing someone has had a bereavement and this is how people react? For shame. Just make art without dDo/megascans for now, they are JUST tools.
Vic - that is not all what I said, Megascans suffered more from the personal tragedies that affected Quixrl staff, more so than DDO, hence: ddo is further along than what we had initially expected.
welcome to the indie revolution! when you want tiny companies, you can't expect enterprise level resources. give them a break and wait. if you're depending on megascans for your project, you're a fool, and if you aren't, chill.
threepeasgamertag - Excellent question! The materials are scanned from all across the world, they´ve really tried to check all the boxes and create a wide variety of materials! As Megascans is launched it will free up staff to go and scan even more Things.
I know right? lol, they are already loosing big time to substance, this won't help. 1.9 better be worth the wait. I'm not worried about megascans, as it will probably be a kick ass service. I'm getting worried about the Suite itself.
Sorry if I seemed kinda poop in my last message. Anyways, I have a question... So are the Megascans materials scanned from all over the world? Like the UK, US, places like that or are they just taken from where you guys work?
Today I noticed some missing materials from my DDO Megascans library. I seem to be missing a few samples from the preview image below (mainly tasty variants of existing materials). Any plans to include these in 1.9? http://quixel.se/dev/ddo
Hi Falkrum! No I don't think so, we should be able to allocate resources so that both projects can progress accordingly to plan! We are very eager to push out the next release of the suite as soon as possible as it really unleashes the power of megascans, especially with the 3D painting!
Wait, wait, wait. So this ENTIRE thread is about Megascans being delayed, right because it's not ready to be released? Yet, SolarFall Games, a small indie dev team that got their game funded by Kickstarter are allowed access to Megascans? I would understand if it was a huge, well-known company like Rockstar or Bungie but…
