It maybe just a personal taste thing, but I kinda prefer the original one with the lower contrast - especially because if its tiling horizontally and there's already a lot of information on the stones it could become too distracting and noisy. I feel like the modified one also makes the stones start to read either slightly…
this started out in photoshop and finished using krita paint program for making sure its tileable. [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ICGks0-InQ[/ame]
model This thread is really pushing out some fantastic work - here is my attempt - started as a demo piece for my students, got to properly finish it off yesterday.
Started and finished this one today, from concept to texturing! Here's the Sketchfab in case anyone wants to look at it in 3D/take a peek at the texture map or triangle count etc!
Heya! Such great artworks here, really inspiring. :) After a long break i started trying handpainting textures again. Here is my Soulcleaver Axe on Sketchfab. model
model Trying to improve my texture painting, I'm not sure if I'm doing everything 100% right. But I'm starting to feel more confident with different types of material.
Some absolutely awesome work here! :open_mouth: Here is my contribution. I want to practice handpainting but have been super anxious about getting started. model
For these assets I started from a Highpoly sculpt baked normals and ao, the rest was all 3Dcoat and Photoshop. Wildstar uses normal maps, so the sculpting is worth it
