I have finally finished a Disruptor set, concept by NFWar ! Mystic Stormcaller Sculpt and polypaint shots : And here is an imgur gallery with some wips if anyone is interested. Selaznog - it's disgusting, I love the idea !
Okay... Did some polypainting. It's amazing what you'll make time for if you really want to do something. I'll probably have to do some considerable painting on the textures once they're baked... I'm beginning to wonder if the crab is too large...
Long time no post, still plugging away, super sick right now, boourns. Here's the latest progress on multitud3's concept for the Brewmeister. All the shapes are in there just need to detail and clean up some edge stuff as well as final polypaint.
spudnik - thanks! i adjusted the rocks near the blade to be a bit smaller, but I also plan to texture more silver in on the blade part that i actually polypainted :P thanks Tvidotto! IEatApples - looks great so far! looking forward to more
@praetus I personally lay down some base colors and do a simple shading, and then set everything up following Valve's texturing guideline. Here are some pics from a piece of the NP set I'm working on. The polypaint, the layer setup and the outcome of the bakes ONLY:
Hey guys, First time starting out my texturing with polypaint, and will be doing it live on www.hitbox.tv/Fletch Switched over from twitch because of chat delay :) Would appreciate any advice if anyone happens to stop by. Will be working on my axe set for probably most of today.
i work like this: polypaint on highres mesh using zapplink or spotlight, you need to sample a main colors from your hero. bake paint and cavity, occlusion maps to lowpoly combine them in photoshop using layers, softlight or multiply tweak colors a little, channels, etc.
@Kraken, love the bomb, is that front a little nod to the PC crowd? Got the lowpoly and test bakes all done, this is just a block in color. Going to move onto polypainting in zbrush, i tried it on my last few items and i really like that workflow. Final sculpt as well
Well, about this discussion, all I can say is: Doesn't matter where..a cleavage does a tumult everywhere it goes :D Anyway, I finished yesterday the high poly for my set collab with Mango. Now, polypaint time! Please let me know what you think :)
