The poly limit for items is in tris not faces. There was a bug in the importer that only counted the number of faces instead of tris but this was recently fixed, which is probably why you can't import it anymore. Is your selection tool ignoring the backfacing polygons? If you flip the model 180 and add those two 'same' faces to the current selection, you should get your 4.
Hmmm I feel like it would be a better fit for Juggernaut honestly since he normally wears a mask. Maybe you could reconfigure it so more of his face is showing?
