Hey Gooner, Our lives might not be so different than you may think. I have a 15 month old daughter that's a little hurricane. On average i would get home at 7'ish, have dinner with the family, play for a while with my daughter(Elin) and hang out with my wife. On average, i would start work on the challenge around 9-10 PM…
Man, the guy had his (very very serious) transgressions but his music was damn good when I was a little kid and it's not that bad today either, if you hear it once in a while. RIP. as much as i dislike troll comments, i feel compelled.... the presentation and pose aren't bad, but there are quite a few things wrong with her proportionally and anatomically at the basic level. i wish you'd posted an early WIP shot so we could have gotten them fixed, that way this piece would have been a badass stand-out.
I feel sad for you bro working on that big of screen is pretty bad on the eyes having to look all the way to the left and all the way to the right. i would never have a screen that big even if i could.
maya then zbrush isn't a bad idea, you could also pull off most models with only using one or the other of those programs I learned maya first and only ever use zbrush for organic details like wrinkles etc how long? depends how fast of a learner you are, just keep making stuff and eventually you'll be boss at it
