If you're not looking to profit directly, sure, find a nice concept and get some practice/portfolio work out of it (though, I would still consider it dishonest to not mention on the portfolio that it isn't your design). The artifacts are too subtle for your viewers to notice. Only you the creator, examining every tiny detail, will see them.
