I'm not a big fan of realistic environment but your composition is very cool, the AO render is amazing and those pipe material works very well. Well done, I can't wait to see the final shot :)
Hey thanks for the feedback! :) Yea, I had a quick look at some reference. I guess that didn't really cut it :p I will try to get them to feel more realistic, and disgusting kind of :p
Wow, you can draw well! Model's are good too. :) Will you be going for a non photorealistic realtime render that looks like a painting? or are you going down the realistic direction. Great work, keep it up!
Nice work, looks similar to the realistic rendering project on the UE4 marketplace, but I love the interactivity in this. The one thing I think could use some work is the grass outside, it looks really patchy at the moment.
In an ideal world it may work and I can understand the reasoning but realistically I don't think that's very fair. Although Mark makes a hilarious yet very good point for it, I can't deny. :D
Even though it's realistic, you can defiantly see a personal style in this work. Really amazing. I have been showing this thread off to people going: "can you believe this is real time graphics?" :)
The goal would be to make the first render, look real. As ina realistic still of the ship in the harbor. I know V Ray isnt game art software, This is seperate from the school thing for game art.
Nice execution bringing the style into 3D, I find it really interesting that you've added some reflectivity to the armour pieces, though I think the dusty texture overlaid onto it is far too realistically styled
Here's the diffuse map I'm going for hand-painted right now, though I wouldn't mind learning realistic painting later on. And thanks for the tips and links, I'll try to improve as much as I can.
hmm i have no idea, but i also noticed that, and it seems to be unique to everything, i'd imagine they hand-unwrapped it... it works really well though, makes fairly bland textures look a LOT more realistic.
