Congratulations! Every time I see a new hire Next Gen MMO title, I check their portfolio and jizz a little. You're putting together some insane monster of an artist for that game, God I can't wait to see what it all is, oh no I'm drooling again.
You could have optimised the low-poly more; for example do the monster's heads that form the crossguard need the teeth modeled in? Probably not. You might be able to simplify the crossguard/pommel geo in other areas too. The texture does look overly dirty but it was for skyrim I guess.
That's the best arenanet monster i've seen on polycount so far. Impressive. And the environment on this page is stunning -- the perspective is maybe a bit too obviously fudged, but the colors and sense of scale are amazing. I'd love to see the steps on this one, and maybe hear a bit about how you chose colors.
The only quote I can remember from this movie is "Look British, think Yiddish!" freakely realistic looking (I just realized it's a guy walking on his back in a monster suit) Why you shouldn't eat soup in bed What? Midget clown!? Is this the same movie? yes it is!
[ QUOTE ] Morrowind characters. The rest of that game was awesome. [/ QUOTE ] Funny how things haven't changed I really enjoyed playing everquest2... That undeniably has the most inconsistant art ever. Some jaw-dropping, fantastic looking environments and monsters... LOTS of ugly, shite environments and characters
ty you :) i have to admit i was inspired by that design, that and monster hunter. i dont really like it so i dont see it staying as is tho. ill try switch it to be one side, i might as well try full sleeve and all body at the same time = ]
Actually the noise is dynamic,it increases when monsters are nearby (sh4 feature ) This game will get published. Its not for a contest or things like that. Very soon,in about 3 or 4 weeks we will release the demo wich will include cutscenes too.I will post the link here when ready. Thanks for your comments
From a design standpoint I preferred what it was before to what it is now. I just imagined it running on all fours similar to a Gorilla. Now it's just the standard roided out Mutant/Orc/Monster, which can and does work. It just doesn't capture interest in the same way.
I like most of the assets, just the goblins walk looks a little...springy? for the type of monster they are supposed to be. The environment gives off such a great feel of darkness like you are all alone in a ghost town, but the goblins hopping sorta breaks it for me. Maybe if they walked with more of a drag in their feet.
GX: Thats exactly what my insurance is. You must be married or over 25. ChaosEidolon: The monster is what i was looking at for my next bike! hahaha wtf. Still have to get some pics of mine... wifey has the camera and i dont know where it is currently.
