I just had the pleasure of installing 2 apps today. 3dsmax 2020 and Blender2.8. You should apply a turbo smooth modifier to the mesh and put new screenshots of the mesh up (no wires). Also try using a shader that has a high specular level so you can see the modeling and details more easily. You can find that under your material properties in max under Specular highlights. Just crank the spec level up,…
So I've been up to a lot over the holidays, not to mention i completely redid the entire design, don't know if i should make a new post but the viking design wasn't jelling with me wanting to make it historically accurate, just had weak silhouettes and just didn't look good. could have kept at it but time is a factor and…
you must triangulate, set face normal, harden edge and then go find a mel script to add a little noise to randomly jitter the vertex componet and youre all set. Nice style though. I did some unity test :)
@Jeebs Cheers for the crit on the character man, did a quick check on head/body proportions, she was only at 7 heads height anyway so i've made the legs longer! cheers for that, it adds alot more femininity! Keep the crits coming!
yup the plan was to make it glow like neon,i messed around a bit and got a look that i liked but it still needs allot a of work with the colors and probably going to add some gradient, i also did some work on the stock.
did a little work on him tonight - I might add glowy bits to the hardware as well (thanks Crazyfingers). If I can get off my ass, I'll try to finish him in the next couple of days. full bright diffuse
Update! Added a lot of new assets. Still planning to add more. Not too happy about black shadows on the edges of the bricks. Increasing lightmap size didn't do anything. Neither did manual vertex direction fix. Still working on it.
Why do you have so many edge loops everywhere? Did you plan to do vertex paint or vertex blending? If not, get rid of all these edges and use the spared triangles to add more interesting props to your scene :)
I did this comp to showcase the model, I added a few things and still plan to add more. This is rendered in Marmoset. I would really appreciate professional feedback in order to improve rendering, lighting and composition. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/wZVx6
