Nah its a good portfolio, don't second guess yourself. Just a difficult time for the industry. Might be extra difficult depending on how many studios are in your country. Only suggestion is maybe try a few other styles, as you're currently limiting your portfolio to just stylized. Good luck :)

I'm glad we got the beeple shit out the way. I think the outsourcing discussion is very interesting because when I hear @Neox say: I read that as: "Studios are looking to underbid and over-promise" which has been my experience with outsource studios AND working for a contracting company in film VFX. This is not a statement…
Dont forget to do a lot of studies! They really help you understand how things work in space as well as lighting, shading etc Unfortunately I never did drawing studies my whole life till recent years and let me tell you, it really makes things better!
that is one of the best advice i have ever red. - (no pun inteded) @ OP, well you need to study, period. I could critique your current art work but it has a lot missing so I would say, go ahead and study. CTRL+paint.com is a good place to start at.
Here are some environments I did in B&W value first then experimented with color schemes. I did some environment thumbnail studies AFTER that (yes, I know, backwards but I realized I needed to do some environment studies after I had done the first set).

So decided to join in the #21days challenge http://tinyurl.com/pbfhr9e But instead of doing masters studies every day I will do anatomy studies, either sculpted or painted. So here was yesterdays quick attempt, lots that needs changing, but just gotta improve today :) Focus on shoulder and upper torso.
Agreed on studying Quake 3, IMHO the best resource for oldschool textures. :poly124: Yes, I'm a hopeless Kenneth Scott fangirl. :poly136: These character shots may help: http://earthli.com/quake/warriors.php But I would really recommend getting the game if you don't have it, and studying the flats for yourself!
The difference here is that b1ll actually paints his stuff, you just traced photos. There's not a lot of study or learning in tracing a photo and pulling colors from it. If you want to do a study of a photo, have in on a second monitor and just *paint* it, like you would if you were looking at a live model.
