Damn Eric. Since I had pointers inside the dummies that would have worked. But its made for max 5. I tried it in 7 and it just gives an error on startup.
If you use the import script from the tremx svn you can import MD3s with animation and tags. If you get 'there are errors' it's just harmless material not found stuffs. Proceed.

Its the best to have 2 materials because otherwise you need the translucent material on the whole mesh which makes it unnecessarily expensive and very prone to transparency related rendering errors.
Hey there... small update on the jacket. started sculpting folds on the sleeves and I'm currently modeling a placeholder for sculpting the folds under the braces of the backpack... this is a very early phase, rich of errors :D
Hi again, thought about the low poly look and I am ditching that. But smoothing generated errors - small material patches rampaging on the model - would anyone know, what is the cause for this?
Thanks guys, I did fix a few lightmap errors, but it must be something with that particular floor tile, I replaced it with other ones I made. Does it look any better?
there is a small lighting error along the muzzle of the barell, which it seems i cannot avoid thanks to the indends, so if i leave the supporting edge out it will actually become more noticeable.
Well ok, just for the records: formatted & installed win 7 just in case. After installing Maya guess what? exact same error, so must be something else... :S
