I think it'll take a couple of non-film projects for that to happen honestly. To Ton's credit, the open film projects have made him seriously reevaluate the user interface, animation, rendering, and composition functionality of Blender. Perhaps not always making the right decisions, but definitely making better informed…
@RN Thank you for explaining that!! Now I know what that is about. I always wondered what that OT meant too...Your insight is tremendously helpful Rafael (espanol?)! Guys, about linked objects: is there a quicker way to place multiple linked objects along a surface than using the right click and manual transform tools? Pic…
My unique real gripe with Blender 2.8 / 2.81 is the poor perfomance with subdivision modelling. I miss some modifiers from Max or Maya, but i think it's a matter of changuing the modelling philosophy. I remember when i started using modo 1.0, i missed all from Max. Right now i do things in a different way. I'm heavy…
They are, one of the reasons for a more simple, streamlined and consistent keymap is that it leave a lot of unused keys in which users can set their own hotkeys. The problem they said right now is that there are no empty keys, adding your own will conflict with something else thus the resorting to 3-4 key combos. With a…
@MmAaXx Blender is horrible for me. First a Tool palette at the left side, then a Mesh Menü at the bottom and at the right side the deformer menü. Everything can be used to changes the Polygons in a simple Mesh. I dont know what reason exist to spread the menüs all over the Interface. The 3d cursor is nice but at the stage…
Dim: By unified brush settings I mean they are numerically linked so if Drawn brush is at 0.75 strength all the other brushes will be too, etc. This should work for strength, size, and color (I can hardly believe even color isn't unified). Although with no blur, burn, or dodge brushes its seeming rather barren anyway. For…
I think the only reason Blender doesn't have Ngons right now is because the mesh code is so old (15yrs+, iirc) I'm not sure I can agree with your statement that people who dont use NGons must have a rigid workflow...Its just a different way of modelling. Bob Ross used 1-2' paint brushes, but i wouldn't say that they…
In many ways I should have chosen a different username...to be honest I rarely get to play around with Blender anymore, I use both Maya and Max in my day to day. What you say is true, but is 's' for scale and 'r' for rotate such a big difference from 'e' for scale and 'r' for rotate? I agree with you about the right mouse…
Eld: Oh, my comment was mostly spurred on by Tom saying that was an area he wanted to focus on. I only wanted to say that, while to me personally modeling tools are most important, any work on retopologising could make Blender a part of our workflow. But no, I hadn't yet tried it, although I must say that --if I'd use…
Hey @FourtyNights , I can feel your pain and only encourage you to report the problems to us (best is to write a little doc or to create a screencast with the flaws and tell us about it on the mailing list) - our development is heavily user driven, the best tips come from frustrated users ;) We always love to have feedback…
