tone down the white lines and noisy pixels in the wood diffuse map and you gotta a massive victory on your hands here ^^

if it still looks dark you can also up the Diffuse attribute on the skybox shader; change the default .8 to something higher

Update - basic diffuse, spec, normal and lightmap baked out for body also...ganna throw some textures on real soon...

The diffuse texture has too much going on. Look up some other textures of guns or the same gun for some ideas.

I usually make my low poly work (sub 1k tris) fully self illuminated and paint the lighting into the diffuse.

The brightness on the edge of the blade should come from high spec, not bright diffuse. Metal is generally dark, and where it is "Bright" it is reflective.
