This is my first time posting here...I've been using Maya for almost a year now, and I just found out about Mudbox and downloaded the trial the other day. 2nd time using mudbox: 3rd time:
i would suggest taking a few days and rebuilding a good base mesh over a 2nd or 3rd subdivided level of your high res and really make it so you can get all of the detail you want.
they changed it in 2011, doesn't matter too much but i did used to like selecting and deselecting with ctrl. i love how they added ring and loop selection in vertex, edge and poly subobject by holding shift on the 2nd selection.
I kinda would have liked to see :) I also noticed a number of elements from the tron2.0 game in this movie, including the 2nd gen lightcycle. Even thoug the game isn't canon, it's interesting to see bits of it brought in
I have the first one and it sucked balls. Hard. It seemed it was just a poorly done Battlefield 1942 mod rather than a serious game. The space battles in the 2nd interested me, but no way im putting down $50 for it.
I like it, the texture isn't over done/normal mapped like a lot of current game art you see. The Tri count is a bit high though and there's some distortion in the bottom left of the inside of the tread on the 2nd image.
if i'm not mistaken, UDK is capable of creating and UVing static meshes on 2nd channel for lightmaps. but if you do it by hand, you may achieve better results I guess. since automatic unwrap isn't really perfect these days.
Left 4 dead. I haven't played TF 2 since this came out... and I used to play tf2 a lot... Runner up: MGS4. Great game - horrible story 2nd Runner up: Dead Space.
Yeah, come to think of it, after reading Totozoo's comment, it looks like one might bonk their head on the ceiling while walking up those stairs. Might want to have that 2nd floor/ceiling bit start where the stairs start.
2nd image, left concept, to me, is a better choice. I like the vest, kneepads and loose cloth pants. I know you're already working on the concept you went with but consider that the one I mentioned, at least to me, is more interesting.
