First Update: Initial Block out in Engine as well as 1st pass of Layered Landscape Material. Here are some quick 3DO renders for Multiple Materials used in the Layered Material. Rock01 Rock02 Sand01 Sand02 Dune Sand ZBrush HiPoly for Rocks.
this is so much more fun than i expected :D here's a simple one: texturing takes ages though, because it keeps loading all of the layers over again even if you only change one layer :( . (and my pc is slow)
To build on Eric's point and to confuse the issue further... Conductivity of iron oxides and iron phosphates: If we're speaking in general terms: rust is red iron oxide Fe₂O₃ (near non-conductive) and bluing is black iron oxide Fe₃O₄ (conductive). So (in broad terms) assigning a metallic value for bluing (magnetite) is…

Thanks. :) Finally a couple in engine screens. I'll be doing some more work on the ground materials later and tweaking all the materials later. Open to constructive/destructive criticism regarding anything. :) Edit: I made the tree just for filling the blank. It's not going to be included.
It looks good, but I think its really obvious that it ends, and there is nothing behind the first layer. I think you could make this scene a lot better by adding another layer of building behind, to make it look like it actually is a city that goes on for miles.
Being able to paste images into it would be super useful. I often clip pieces of the screen and then paste them into Evernote as reference for later. Pasting them into this would turn it into a living mood board. And then be able to save the whole board out as a file to be reloaded later.
It can be a bit weird setting heights on materials that you want to use in Painter. A lot of issues go away if you put a base fill layer with neutral values at the bottom of your layer stack as it means you're not compositing values over a transparent channel.
Anybody knows why i get the transition line in there ? I have all the diffuse color slots at 128,128,128 and all are saved as terraindiffusehighpassed Oh, and when i paint a terrain layer with color, after i restart the level the textures and layers are there but the color is gone
Looks like an interesting video, based on how informative your previous vids have been. I'm adding it to my watch later for... Watching later. Thasnk! @aleksdigital- Considering d1vers body of work I think he's qualified to provide a view point on this.
