Not much more to add really at the moment... Just been tweaking materials mainly, Uvs and adding a few props here and there mainly an officals table and advertising boards. But, enjoying the progress i am making when i have the time to do it. Any feedback would be gratly appreciated :) Even after tweaking some uvs i am…
So far there's not much to comment on. Your model has quite alot of chamfered edges, which makes it hard to see exactly whats going on (especially at a low res). Your unwrap looks pretty clean to me, but as said above, alot of space going to waste there. Personally id start with modelling a 7 sided cylinder as a base mesh,…
Eric, Thanks for the reply! 1- I was at least able to find one of the HDRI maps ( "Complex Roof Lights" ) online but haven't had luck with the others yet. I'll keep hunting though. :) 2 - If those lights won't be tweakable at least give us the option to disable them please I'm glad to hear that you guys will be syncing to…
Hey BIGTIMEMASTER, thanks for the feedback and analogy. Are the following your suggestions then: 1. Forget the VR voxel sculpting now 2. Learn basic poly modelling 3. Eventually, when I am good at basic carpentry, I can retopologize the VR sculpts (carpentry) and eventually get to rendering (putting a roof on the house)?…
I like your reference a lot. What strikes me is that the house looks a bit flat. Maybe you could add more geometry to make the silhouette more interesting. Making stones and wood beams stick out. I read this great article about housing, i'll have a look if i can still find it. It also talked about adding geometry to define…
yeah, always assume polys means tris - couple of easy savings i can see, firstly you've got a lot of quads on arched sections that you could reduce to fanned tris - things like the doorstep for example, don't need the extra verts at the back, just on the front to form the curve. secondly you probably want to use floating…
haha sorry guys so i took out the images and thank you @dox sorry it has been a while since updates been rather busy but here is some stuff i have been able to work on let me know what you guys think Solar panels- id say im about ready to call them done maybe make a destroyed "wing" and Car- just a quick compact car that…
Hey man, i like it. gotta love church scenes! i looked through the thread and seems you have come a long way. The main points for me would be to add more stuff to the walls, especially by the big circular windows it just looks like a whole lot of nothing and really brings a downer on the scene. The lighting as well, its…
I think you could have pushed the textures further had you used some tiling textures for the sand, roof, and concrete slab. I'm not sure how close you were with the tri count, but some tiling optimization could free up your texture space for sharper images. Callesw is right on when it comes to the palm trees as well. It…
Thanks for the comments! :) Some of the props on the picture have smoothing errors. But I'm glad they aren't that noticable. let me make a small list of things to change: - Better backdrop - Wood pattren across the floor - Give the roof some love - Litte details like corwn molding and a curtain rail. (maybe window…
