sculpted a couple of snake heads for the bottle, need to get my brain in gear and work out a way to blend them in to a procedural body for snaking around the bottle -

This should be the padding option in the render to texture dialogue. If max didn't improved here don't expect the nice color bleeding from your 2nd image though. -

You might want to change the colors of the eyes, right now they blend into the face so much its hard to tell at a glance whether they're open or closed.
