IMHO I would rather start by enquiring with the shop if they can even process polygon models at all ; because if they can't then the time spent sculpting in Zbrush would be wasted. But if they can, then you could get some example files from them to see how they set them up : do they need a thin surface, or a thick slab,… -

The environments are wayyyy better than your props. If you're responsible for all the content in them, I'd say you should put them first. The props are ok technically, but boring. This is looking solid, though! Consider using a low compression jpg instead of PNG for your bigger pics, though, it took a while to load some… -

If this were my prop, I'd start by deleting the bottom half. Then select the top, planar map by best angle, cut a seam wherever it would be least noticeable from the camera, and relax it. Hey guys! Just finished up my first prop. I wanted to make a prop real quick so I could flesh out the style that the rest of the inn will be made. Renders done in Marmoset. I used a combination of 3ds max, zbrush, and Marvelous Designer to complete this. I textured it in substance painter. And as always c&c welcome. -

Thanks, that is some good advice. That is what I intend to do with this scene. I'm going to model each prop the best I can. Right now I placing all my props in the UDK engine just to make sure there are no improting problems (which there were ofcourse :\ ) but I think I have it figured out this time around. :) -

your highpoly of the street light looks great. I definatley agree with the comment about wasted UV space also 2048is pretty high for a smaller prop like this you could probably get away with a sharped 1024 for the diffuse and a 512 for the normal and spec, something to keep in mind for next time. cant wait to see more… -

Composition wise, I think your first attempt is close to being fine. It could use some weather fx... it's a viking theme, so lighting, something to do with the hammer of Thor etc etc could be great. I think all you really need to do is continue updating prop by prop until it's fresh and reskinned, so to speak! -

You can play around with lights in Marmoset to make objects more interesting and maybe tell a little bit of a story.
