Alright some more progress being made. Injected a bit more saturation back into the scene, and now I've actually started building the final layout. Basically right now I just want to create those tree variations, windows, as well as a small pen on the side of the building for travelers to put their horses.
Thanks for the feedback Stanley. Ya I was struggling with creating some focal points in the level, I think i might need to play around with the layout composition. The environment is also huge so that made it a bit challenging. Ya I'll need to fix the foliage so it looks less abrupt transitioning into the ground.
I cant get this to work either. I download the viewport cfg, put in my roaming config folder, go layout - Palettes - New Palette. A new blank window appears, then click on the little triangle and cant see Quixel Material VP in properties as above I am a dullard Thanks Piers
I've been using TexTools 4.10 for some time now, I really like it, it makes life a lot easier inside of Max. I'm confused about how I can get each atlas to layout like the squares above. I'm assuming it has to do with the merging and setting of unique ID?
@CJE heh, yea I was creating a closeup layout, that happened, and I couldn't resist. @pixelpatron, thanks! And I'm glad you like the ecorche because I spent too much time on it for the assignment requirements. That detailing in that ecorche is probably why my base mesh didn't turn out very well >.<
There is currently no way to make a loop in a function graph. It is not easy to find a way to setup a proper graph layout to allow for that (we can't allow "graph loops"). Also, we would need a way to check for infinite loops in advance in order not to lock the CPU or GPU in case the user sets up a loop incorrectly.
Your work is really nice! :D I think you should be careful of how you crop your shots, you are sometimes putting your chars too close to the edge or even cutting them off in some instances, like at their feet or the tops of their heads. Spacing is pretty important for layout imo
I think what you're looking for is called Relax and can be found in the UV editor under Polygons. There are pinning options and you can set the number of relax iterations, etc. I'm not sure what else Maya has these days. I mainly use Headus UV Layout, which is amazing but not cheap.
Adam, the news feature is awesome. I have the rss feed subscribed along with gamasutra and check it several times a day from my iPhone. :) If I could ask for one feature it would be a mobile friendly layout option or subdomain forums. Most of my online communication goes through the phone these days.
Yea, its the base, under the cylinders. You can barely even see it, total waste. I just forgot to shrink it before I did the uv layout so it is the same texel density as everything else. Was dealing with a bunch of technical issues while I was doing it so it slipped my mind.
