conform compound object as shrinkwrap replacement probably And 3d party tools for normals transfer like Noors Normal thief Neither work same interactive and easy as in Blender although. Perhaps could be recreated with Max Creation Graph but I have no idea how. Too crazy convoluted even after Houdini
This works really nicely. I assume for some workflows you could just use normal thief to grab normals from a pre-chamfered model that has been smoothed how you want it initially. That pre-chamfered model may also serve well for LOD version/base. Cheers Dave
Haven't tried it out but if its a vertex normal thing, then wouldn't you just fracture the mesh the way you want it and then apply normal thief/transfer normals to it from a regular cylinder object? Then it should be able to break into pieces but still retain the appearance of a intact cylinder right?
Yeah exactly, its hardly stealing a design so don't accuse someone of being a thief. The thread creator's katar is much simpler and has a yin yang whereas Agito's is based off a dragon. I don't think its fair to say that katar's are now off limits because Agito is working on one.
Funny, this happens a few weeks before wikileaks sharing US diplomatic cables on the net and posting an encrypted file as insurance (to refrain autorities to shut their site down) on the torrents sites.... Coincidence...or not. When they smell danger, they build wall around it... same here in France with gov "thiefs"…
hated FF 12 with passion. what now.. i can have an supposedly agile thief that can constantly spam curaga.. while wearing heavy armor?? quickening uses mana? oh wow! played trough 3-12 + tactics, tactics advance, chronicle and several lesser titles. best candidate : FFV :)
I haven't tried it, but I'd hazard a guess tessellation is more expensive. Literally no game I know even ships with it. The only exception is Gran Turismo, and it uses adaptive tessellation. I recall an artist here who worked on Thief (2014) and said they used POM for some parts.
Heya Polycounters, it's been a little while! I've been working on this girl for a few weeks for Retrogasm - Moriah the Thief from that old Dungeons & Dragons arcade game. I'm primarily referencing J.Polidora's beautiful updated concept for her and she's been a blast to work on. Still a ways to go, but I'm pretty happy with…
