almighty_gir: I could get hair to look pretty sweet, with the dithered alpha. All characters I show are made by SveinY EarthQuake: That's pretty sweet, considering it's a real time render. The character where "only" around 400.000 tri's, the vehicle though is on 2.3 million triangles and it loaded really fast.
I got one of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817153133&cm_re=usb_sata_hard_drive_adapter-_-17-153-133-_-Product It makes any SATA drive into an external drive. I've rescued lots of data with this. It's been working great for about 2 years now. (I have the USB 2 version.)
Lookin great so far man, keep at it! I think the area above the trigger looks kinda bland in comparison to what the film prop actually looks like, but I can see thats a difference in the concept. http://fc07.deviantart.net/fs46/f/2009/231/7/a/arc_gun_from_district_9_by_deamon88xyz.jpg
How do you get it to remember the assignments? When I shut down maya and reopened a scene I had saved, nothing is connected anymore. The locator I was using as a go between still has connections to nodes called blendDevice1, 2,3, etc. but they're not connected in the devices editor.
Normally you would create polygroups for the parts you want to work on separately. I usually make the hands one polygroup. Then when I want to work on the fingers just lasso select a finger with 'x' symmetry on and hide the rest. This is an oldie but a goodie https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=213&v=6AfV2hmSmqo
Hi there! Nice idea and wonderful work so far! Regarding the armor I like B, D and F, though B and F fit more to Diana then D I think... For the composition I think 2,3 and 5 would look awesome! In these pictures you have a nice connection to the moon light!
http://farm1.static.flickr.com/203/508231970_ac420398b8.jpg It's this kind I mean, I'm not sure yet about the painted markings, but I'll probably do a load of variations anyway. If you have any suggestions, please do, because I dont really know what to search for to find good examples of these patterns. :)
i suppose my main problem with the original stalker was it's setting and atmosphere always promised more than it delivered. The scary moments on the way to an underground encounter were infinitely more scary than the actual encounter.. I think the next interesting thing is that metro 2033.. cant wait to get my hands on that
of course i don't want to assign fresh materials, but keep the texture assignments as they were. the only script i found and goes in the right direction does not work with my maya 7. maybe the code is outdated. last update was 1999.. http://www.highend3d.com/maya/downloads/mel_scripts/rendering/misc/243.html
