It depends on the goals. If the main purpose is to learn and improve with the end product being a portfolio piece, time isn't the real constraint - it can take months or years to finish a project because part of it was to learn sculpting or grooming, or other core skills that themselves are adventures in their own right.… -

General this is how most professional artists view working from concepts Concepts from a video game, as long as you labeled it as such, it is fine to create art from concepts from video games, its basically fan art. I think if you can finish translating that to 3d and stay faithful to your concept you'll be golden. Looks great. To be nit-picky: I think you could have some more facial asymmetry or some other novel mutation going on. As it is, he looks like a fat man-rabbit/rat. A cool one, but could use some conceptual massaging. -

I actually like yours the way it is- in fact I feel like you should make him bulkier. half of what seems to be making him look like such a bad ass in the concept is the dude is huge- a-la Marv from sin city, that dudes concpets are awesome, but his website makes me want to punch kittens!!
