Thanks Surfa, this is perfect! I had trouble decyphering exactly which variable was the normal map's Y channel. I think what I was doing was transposing x and y somehow.

Had an issue that one I was gonna try it out...it's asking me to install Direct X 9.0 even though I already have it...perhaps you folks can look into it?
1) shift+x when in edit poly is the hot key for that I think. As vig said, it will let you slide edge loops around while constraining to the shape of the mesh. -Tyler
I just activate DX display under the Direct X Manager in the Material Editor. It won't display lightmaps that you have on another channel, but for diffuse, spec, normal, it works fine.
