psst... Ctrl-A... selects all <!SHOCK!> Ctrl-D is actually "Select None" and won't get you out of sub object mode. Are you thinking of Ctrl-B? Which is sub object selection toggle?

btw, the Senosoft browser is looking better and better. He added a hotkey for cycling the channels (rgb, r, g, b, alpha), thumbnail support for Max files, and it also shows shaded/wireframe previews for OBJs and the like.
This might help. I've never tried it myself, but I've seen it around. http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/vertex-color-tools-0 reads: "Adjust R -G -B -H -S -V -Contrast"
Viewport canvas does NOT play nicely with multiple UV channels. It also slows waaaaay down with even moderate tricounts, at least here at work where I've been using it to paint grime masks and A/B blends.
I've been feeling the same way. Not that I'm really opposed to violent video games. But I'm starting to feel every game is A kill B with a different wrapper. And I know we can create more than that.
Guys thanks you so much for the help and now I understand. So thank you again I apologize for such a large image butt_sahib, I'll try to avoid the bottom scroll bar next time -B
Titan Quest has a very easy editor to get into. It has an amazing height map editor as well as a more complex tile editor if your kids really get into it. Xpack comes out soon too!! B
Shift-B should also acheive the same effect. it's also possible you're running in Indexed Color mode. To check that go to the Image>Mode> menu and make sure the tick/check mark is next to RGB Color.
alright, so since here is the side by side. Which one of the has the correct normal values? A or B? There is also the possibility that some of these have parts reversed, so I think I need to look at ZBrush perhaps.
