I don't see UV unwrapping going away anytime soon. In some ways I find a good unwrapped model is WAAAAY easier to texture than trying to paint it all on a 3D object. B

Import texture -> Tick box Flip Y Channel. Or... Import texture -> Save -> Put in Material Editor -> Take Green channel -> Multiply it by -1 -> Append RG -> Append B OR DeriveZ -> Connect to Material Normal.
Just curious, but are the props on a table or on the floor? I'm leaning towards the floor b/c there isnt any depth/separation between the objects and the matress. Is that right? Really awesome mix of objects, a great micro story!
Working on a peice for an environment. This is still WIP b/c I want to do more work on the stone look, but this is going to be a tileable decorative trim that I can use for arches and trims alike. Off to bed!
Hmm, i would say there is no benefit to do method B, and having the restrictions of rotation only is history I build my rigs with all bones floating (translation and rotation), like ryse and uncharted do it.
Lucky you found a plastic kit to use as reference. Would have been an impossible project to do accurately with only b&w pics from 60+ years ago. Looking good so far..
