Need more info. What is it exactly that you been learning, and what is it that you really want to do. Also, any examples of what you have been making thruout the courses ? 8 months is a really long time for a project. O o'
Normals with AO in Marmoset. Anyone know why I have black lines in my model? I'm also thinking about taking my triangle count from the 8-10k range to 12-15k, any thoughts on that would be good too.
I use a Thermal take docking station too. It has eSATA option too. It has been working properly for some months now. Also, it has this nostalgic feeling of inserting game cartridges into 8-bit/16-bit game console :)
Pretty much already said: Split the pieces in a way it´s easier to work inside your 3d package. I normaly save my files as Illustrator 8 and once inside Maya use import Adobe Illustrator. Then just play with Surfaces.

When you say model do you refer the settings for the project? if so i used this settingsAttachment not found.,then i unchecked metalness box and i was able to create good textures. Specs: Win 8, photoshop CC and the latest quixel version.
I really like your work! Could you please talk about how you created the timber geometry/texture? The stuff in post #8 was amazing. A guess would be to start with a plank of wood and then you did a lot of skilled texture painting on it :)
Thanks @Snakes I definitely agree with you. My plan right now is more towards millage and practicing a large variety in a short time. I'm hoping to pick out some favorites at the end of the month and clean em up. :) day 8
Daarken is awesome. A really talented artist, and he's spent the last 8 months putting together free video tutorials and tips on his new site. His art: http://daarken.com/warhammer.html Tutorials and stuff: http://enliighten.com/blog/category/tutorials/
My workflow I think is slowed by 8 gigs of horrible RAM and a terrible GPU when your high poly is so choppy you need to hide some parts and when Cryengine is running at 50 fps in a scene with hardly anything in it on low :(
