Some progress. I had to blend the normals for the wood and stucco separately. The normals for the wood were very shallow before. This looks a bit more balanced.
As always, awesome! I noticed abit of color bleed in some parts of the flare being white when they shouldn't be, is this a texture limitation or video compression issue?
That is only part of it. You actually have to do a couple things in photoshop to blend normals together properly. There is a good video here. http://vimeo.com/8025133
Yes, the colours have to be solid for the masking to work as it should. So padding or diffusion on a single island like this leads to errors as the texture bleeds onto itself.

Looks nice, one thing I don't like is the way everything is brown in the last screenshots, it blends together to much, and gives no contrast or interests in the textures.
I assume the grates decal is just an alpha blended/sorted plane? Looks great. And that reflection is awesome too, you're using a cubemap or is it something fancier?
