Figured it out pretty quickly: Actually funny to me. It's the cage object that casts shadows on everything else. If you hide the cage in the bake process it's fine. I like the changes! The painting makes me think of sand dunes near a beach, like you would see in Monterey CA. Ground fog in the early morning is not uncommon, especially in winter or early spring.
