Reference: Water well : Aion Currently I'm working on de-saturating the gold since it stands out a little too much in the piece, as well as working on the scales to make them tile better i think i might need to do a warp it to get a better turn out also i'm going to include a base part to the bottom part of the well. then…
Like said, it depends, especially for the chamfers. Do you need cuts for normal maps because of hard edges? What's more visible? How much distortion and size scale changes are you willing to deal with? Personally, I'd probably do something like this: "a" can be straightened out without any distortion, the inner and outer…
The model is 90% done, only missing eyes,teeth/mouth.Painted the texture in Zbrush.. ( i don't have anything else..) >_>(Going for a semi realistic style) Image of the progress so far:
Besides using Edit Normals modifiers, you could also maybe fix it by selecting all the faces and pressing Retriangulate (Editable Poly > Edit Polygons > Retriangulate)? The file probably only holds the point order for each face instead of per-triangle, and so the results are going to vary based on the method used by an app…

You've got a point there. I think that a good eviroment it's a shared piece of work, from a 2D concept to a 3D render. I painting, I'd be glad to paint some props or eviroments so you could "3D them out" haha
Don't ever say it's a waste of time learning. If noone learned anything on these forums, then there wouldn't be much of a point to having them. I'll try and do an over paint for you when I get the time, though my painting skills sux.
