I've uploaded the remaining pictures on https://www.artstation.com/artwork/oOO5Bq Feedback is always welcome. If someone knows, I would love to know if the amount of texture sets and my tri count are enough or too much, or if maybe even too small? The aim was to create a prop for a current gen realistic environment. The…
They wouldn't have given you a test if they didn't like your personality in the first place. Focus 100% on the art test, make sure you read well the description of the task before jumping into it head first. Read it again. If they have a similar product live to the one you would be working with spend sometime playing it…
Added wheels , textures. Spec might still require tweaking to differentiate rubber shader from metal .. So far , the 'rules' i found for tire rubber material are: low glossiness (hardness of cooktorr spec. = 5 ) and keeping the spec map blurry . I've been following a very nice tutorial by Laurens Corijn…
I thought everyone here also frequented GameArtisans.org regardless of situations, art is art after all. Next time I create an unofficial mini I will post in gen here and give those that want to participate a chance, I would have loved to have some p.c.ers in on this would have been better, the more the merrier. Kind to…
so got started on the sculpt a couple of days ago, I'm trying to go for realism and getting the anatomy as good as can, I'm aiming for a sculpt good enough to both retop and use as a next gen game character and something i could use for illustrative purposes. i still haven't worked out exactly how i'm going to get the…
Did you play the popular titles on GameCube? A lot have been remade with Wii controls that were top notch last-gen. You can't go wrong with the Metroid Prime Trilogy box set. Satisfies two genre's there at the same time...FPS & action/adventure. edit: My Wii doesn't get much play. It is more of a Mario, Metroid & Zelda…
You guys should check out the Unigine Heaven demo for DX11 goodness. I'd still love to see these things implemented into a game setting but 3d card hardware is only getting more powerful and cheaper by the year. I'd love to see the future of value costed computers that have pricepoints of 600 bucks that offer up the latest…
I like modern adaptations too. But to me, that would mean maintaining the style, but bringing the assets to a next-gen level. I also like realistic adaptations of previously very stylized things. But this feels like some odd mix of the two. We get a realistic looking skull instead of the stylized hut, yet it still has a…
The entire point of a good model is giving you enough polygonal quality that it represents the details in silhouette form and the player is able to understand this is a next-gen arm, and not a cylinder with textures on it. You have to consider this, the random number I put up pretty much shows there is no hard figure. Some…
The main reason it didn't bake well is that your edges are way too tight. If I were you I'd put this project on hold and start with something a bit simpler to really get the high poly/ baking workflow down. Something like a knife or a simple gun would be perfect. Here's some tutorials to get you started.…
