ZBrush is definitely the king of the hill, but I heard 3D Coat isn't too shabby for sculpting, given its price point. If you want to push to "current gen" you need to step up the realism a lot, especially in textures and materials. There are also a lot of baking errors (Hub creature), UV stretches (top of door on Nostromo) and uneven geometry density. You should invest more time in a polish pass and making sure the bakes turn perfect.… -

In real time I suppose not but elongated polys do look crap when they are animated and you get stretch and squash. Once the export process to Zbrush/mudbox is finished then some pinching/collapsing of polygons goes on to optimise the models, thus leaving triangulated meshes as can be seen below in this next gen model.
