The modelling looks solid! My crits: -Everything looks like it has the same width. Id go in and give some variation in the y axis -The concept generally is quite bulky, and your model looks really slender -There are some proportion issues that should be dealt with. I made a paintover (took longer than i wanted :P). In my…
Hmm. So with the hotbox setup I have. I can align my manipulator to an edge, switch to another component (face/vertex/etc) and then select "custom axis" to go back to the manipulator I saved. With this, it seems to "forget" when I go to custom axis.
^^ Yep. When you scale along one axis it will affect the way things rotate. In 3dsmax you go to the hierarchy tab of the command panel and click Reset Transform and Reset Scale.
Hello. I tried to look for problem I encountered and was surprised no one mentioned it before (or I am blind). I am working in 3DSMax and some presets were working weird for me. I baked my maps with XYZ+. I have experience with nDO2 so there was no problem as far as tangent normal map goes, however object space nornmal map…
But the snow is 90 degrees away from where it should be... Are you using a translator? I think something's getting lost in translation. Take the red channel, and put it in the green channel. Take the (previous) green channel, and put it in the red channel. The left/right axis now corresponds to up/down and vice versa. A…
I see no issue here - this is how it is supposed to work. The waving that you get is due to not having enough divisions around the Y-axis. Every quad face you have gets triangulated - even if you do not see it, and that in combination with the fact that the ring has a smaller radius at the top compared to the bottom…
One problem I have is that catwalks are nice because they add more depth along the Z axis, they are very narrow as well. I like Mango's idea of an office. cubicles just high enough to cover all of the body but the head could provide some interesting gameplay; especially if the cubicles are destructible. Did you play…
Wow thank you very much :) Ok Till axemple : Character walks towards the screen(or zoom). in this case, should increase the character's details? What do you think of this issue? details must be the same?
I've worked on racing games for browser portals and we went with lofting splines using 3DS Max. You can then extrude and model the rest of the track's environment afterwards. Also, like AlexMoody said, tracks use a one axis tilable texture, while the environment uses a two way.
Hmmm, resetting with the PEN tools with the pivot preserve box ticked and my pivot is not staying still haha, it's rotating as if I'd pressed reset x-form. I'm wondering now if the issue is that at some stage I've rotated the sub-object to tweak something and then I've also tweaked the pivot to get the alignment right.…
