Natural sunlight has incredible bounce and fill power that your scene could really benefit from. Even through dirty windows, or old shades, it can easily light an entire room with just one window. Here is some real world reference https://www.flickr.com/photos/ntxpeach68/4182874591/sizes/l…

I'm at a non-games company now. Wayfair. I help run a group of around 70 artists doing 3d rendering. Every single person (except receptionist) has a standing desk. There are about 3200 people here, 7 floors filled with standing desks! It's insane how much they spend on office equip and supplies. But hey it's corporate…
I don't frequent boxing gyms but I'd say it's a little too empty and unused. Your scene shouldn't just be a showcase of what you do. It should tell a story. Issues right off the bat are: It looks like this is a gym for only 4 people? It's a gym, they're proud of the boxers they produce yet no imagery, magazines, photo's?…
Yep books are a bitch to rig up. There is a lot of complex motion taking place. The last book I had to rig up I did with bones for the spine and pages then used morph targets to adjust the shape of the pages. This might also help, http://vimeo.com/32288243
this made me curious, i dusted off the painter install to give it a try as a baker. had it since they sold it for 50 or thereabouts but am basically a total noob. bear with me (not in the revenant-way). - it does not seem to write the baked maps to disk directly? you have to wait for all the bakes to finish then export…
The changes you did do the stones and the foliage really was a huge improvement. For the waterfall, right now it's more like a gelatinous coating than moving water. Even a slow waterfall like this one will have the water separate where it moves over rocks and look a lot more foamy. It will also create foam where faster…
Where do I find the render report window if it doesn't pop up? Or maybe it did and I just don't recognize it as such, but I didn't see anything with red text in it. I'll try adding a light though. Correct me if I am wrong but doesn't the HDR file thing cast some lights or something? If it doesn't, what purpose does it…
Modo is like 3DSMax/Maya, a fully featured 3D app. Mari is like Substance Painter/3D-Coat for painting, but is designed more for very high spec work (it can handle multiple 32k res textures at a time).
