Not bad :) For me, it feels like some of the textures lack contrast. Also for example the wood shack building - the plastic crates in there are SUPER clean, as well as the tire. The 3 metal cabinets are also identical -maybe make another one that's dented up? Or use some decals to break up the obvious clones? Nice work…
Don't be afraid to reuse what you can. It's called modular construction, and it's a good thing. You can break things up later with textures, decals, lighting, and a few well placed unique/semi-unique props. I suggest adding doorway or window. Not to mention things in the real world are all mass manufactured duplicates…
Sorry for delay in the editor everyone, all attention got shifted over to the critical and annoying bugs that were found and the editor was pushed back a little. Its on the way, getting documentation and max files ready and we'll get it out as soon as we can. Which really should be soon but being an artist i can't put a…
Be forewarned, P.N.03 is very arcadey and timing-based (you and enemies have certain delays for all actions, you can only shoot while standing). There's no room for twitch gaming, everything must be planned about a second in advance. Many don't like that because they were expecting somehing closer to Devil May Cry.
Well, after some hard thoughts and delay from HR, looks like I start on the 18th at EA. I think this is the best path for me right now, but I am very grateful to have options. If anyone is curious what level of work got me in, check out my portfolio. cheers dabu
A bit of an update here.Kinda placing stuff in more fixing up some textures and what not still need to get some decals and dirty the scene up a little bit.Still it is moving along nicely but still needs work. Any comments or crits are welcome and thanks to those who already gave me some, good suggestions.
:) I'm not even trying to understand. I'm arguing: "Fuck the status quo". Miyamoto, Kojima, Spector...no new inclusion or exception in any top ten is ever gonna diminish their hall of fame status. They've been the "face" for decades. I think it's time for behind-the-scenes guys to get equal footing with these game popstars…
I got a Dremel Trio and a $100 gift card to Barnes & Nobles :) I'm also spending the holidays down in Callaway Gardens in Georgia. It snowed a little last night, which kinda sucks but the weather isn't as bad as Massachusetts. I just hope the snowstorm up north doesn't delay my flight home tomorrow.
I think overreacting is fine, it hurts EA's image and may delay the day when we put a game into our console and have to wait through five ads before it starts. Or try to play online and have to wait through a bunch of ads before the game starts loading. Or maybe even ad breaks in mid game...
Finally got it on line! http://www.spookydistance.com/dave/gargPVEa.zip OK, as if the delay in getting this posted wasn't bad enough, here's another goodie. I'm on vacation and away from a computer starting in about 28 hours. Which means if I've forgotten to put a file in the zip I only have a day to correct it. Thanks…
